DIRECTV Genie - The Most Advanced Whole Home HD DVR Commercial

  1. Lol, this might be the most 'advanced DVR commercial', but the Genie is certainly not the most advanced DVR. Just based on the specs, the Genie is clearly inferior to the Hopper. I asked a DISH coworker what he thought the main differences were, and he came up with a few glaring inequities. First, the Genie can record up to 5 programs at once, while the Hopper can record up to 6 live HD shows. Second, the Genie has a max recording capacity of 1,000 hours, with the Hopper doubling that at 2,000 hours. I also like that the Hopper has features like AutoHop and PrimeTime Anytime, while the Genie's main attraction is something that TELLS YOU what you should be watching, based on past viewing habits. I don't need DTV telling me what to watch, and I don't need an inferior product. It's all Hopper in my house!
